Menhirs and dolmens, twisted pines and ruins slowly consumed by ivy. Darkened corners and forgotten places, mountain peaks framed by waterfalls and impenetrable jungle. Lonely, romantic, awe-inspiring, sometimes unsettling — yet always infused with genius loci and saeculi. They say that anything more than fifty metres from your car is not photogenic. Yet the most powerful places are often those hidden from most eyes, earned through a difficult journey, sweat and blood. But sometimes, all it takes is keeping your eyes open — you might find such a place right behind a pub. Who knows.
